Investigate Residential Golf Community Before Buying Home

Buying a home in a residential golf community will likely
require a significant investment and before you sign a
purchase contract on a home that sparks your fancy there
are going to be a few things to consider. If you are looking
the home on a home tour, you may have already learned if it
is a gated community or open for public passage. Many folks
spending the extra cash for a home in a residential golf
community expect more privacy and security due in part to
the price.

You will also want to look at any amenities included in the
residential golf community such as swimming pools, tennis courts,
spas and any restaurants that may be part of the community. Some
residential communities have included many such facilities, including
small stores for convenience items to make them a separate community.

The location of the residential golf community is also important as
to its proximity to schools and to work. With everything else being
in lines with your expectation if it is going to require an unreasonable
commute to work and back, it may not be worth the money. Additionally,
nearly every residential golf community will have established rules by
which all homeowners are required to live.
If you are not the types that likes others telling you what color you can
paint your fence, the community idea may not be for you. Additionally,
if you are planning to increase the family size in the future, you should
ask if you will be allowed to add on to the house if needed.
In addition to the community's rules, there will likely be a fee assessed
to all homeowners within the community for landscaping and lawn maintenance.
You will want to know what that is in advance to avoid surprises later. You
should also ask exactly what the fee provides, for example it may cover snow
removal from the roads but you, the homeowner will be required to clear your
own driveway as well as any sidewalks on your property. You will want to
peruse the homeowner rules before buying the home, especially if some of the
rules will be hard for you to comply with.
