Golf Course Real Estate A Good Investment
As more people begin to approach retirement age they
begin to look for investments that offer security with the
least amount of risk. One of the areas they are beginning
to see as a growth vehicle for their retirement portfolio
is golf course real estate, and not only as a potential
home site. Living in a luxury home on property shared with
a private golf course is no longer for the well-heeled from
the executive ranks of business and industry. There are many
home communities being established around semi-private as well
as public golf courses that offer many of the same amenities.
Some closer to retirement may join forces with others in
establishing a neighborhood of golf course homes and through
their investment of golf course real estate can build attractive
homes in the attractive neighborhood, using their profits to build
their own home along the fairway of their favorite scenic hole.
Of course it is always better to own the land before the golf
course was built, or at least a home near a golf course that
decides to turn private and add more houses. Even some of the
larger public courses with extra golf course real estate have
been adjusting their layout by moving holes and fairways to free
up land on which new, larger homes can be constructed. In many
areas golf course real estate is rapidly filling up with condominiums
as well as multiple family homes.
Typically, most homes built on golf course real estate for families
are near family-oriented, private and semi-private golf courses.
Multiple family units built on golf course real estate may be more
accessible for locations of public golf courses. However, living on
golf course real estate does not automatically provide unlimited
access to the course.
Some of the private communities located on golf course real estate
offer a limited number of memberships to the course and severely
limit the number of guests allowed to accompany each guest. Owning a
home adjacent to the golf course not guarantee course play without
the accompanying membership. Other facilities in the community such
as a swimming pool and tennis courts may have similar restrictions.
